Our commitment
Apperah is committed to making our service accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We want as many people as possible to be able to plan, coordinate, and connect with friends on Apperah, regardless of how they use technology.
This statement explains how accessible Apperah is today, what we are doing to improve, and how to reach us if something doesn’t work for you.
Scope
This statement covers:
- the Apperah mobile app (iOS and Android); and
- the Apperah website (apperah.com).
The standard we work to
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA — the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C — which is the standard referenced by the European harmonised standard EN 301 549 and the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882).
Conformance status
Apperah is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the service do not yet fully meet the standard.
We have not yet completed an independent, formal accessibility audit — one is being commissioned. This statement will be updated with detailed conformance findings once that audit is complete. In the meantime, we describe below the measures already in place and the areas we are actively working on, and we welcome your feedback.
What we already do
- Scalable text — the app respects your device’s text-size settings.
- Light and dark themes with attention to colour contrast.
- Meaningful labels on interactive controls so screen readers can describe them.
- Touch targets sized for easier tapping.
- No reliance on colour alone to convey essential information, where we can avoid it.
Areas we are reviewing
Because our independent audit is not yet complete, we cannot yet list every barrier. Areas we are actively reviewing across the app and website include:
- screen-reader labelling and reading order on complex screens (maps, lists, the planning canvas);
- keyboard and switch-control navigation, focus order, and visible focus;
- colour-contrast ratios in all themes and states;
- captions and text alternatives for media; and
- accessible handling of dynamic content and time-limited interactions.
If you rely on assistive technology and hit a barrier, please tell us (see Feedback below) — real-world reports help us prioritise.
Compatibility
Apperah is designed to work with the accessibility features built into recent versions of iOS and Android (for example VoiceOver, TalkBack, Dynamic Type, and Switch Control) and with current versions of major web browsers. Older systems and browsers may have a reduced experience.
Feedback — tell us about a barrier
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Apperah. If you encounter a barrier, or need information in an accessible format:
- Email: accessibility@apperah.com
- In-app: Settings > Report a problem — describe the accessibility barrier there
We aim to respond within 5 business days. Please tell us the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you use, so we can reproduce and fix the problem.
Enforcement
This statement is made under the European Accessibility Act and its national transpositions. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the competent national authority — in Norway, the Anti-Discrimination Tribunal (Diskrimineringsnemnda) — or the equivalent body in your country.
How we assessed accessibility
This statement is currently based on self-evaluation by the Apperah team. An independent external audit against EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 AA is being commissioned; its findings will be reflected here, and a dated revision history will be maintained.
