1. What this Policy covers

Apperah uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website (apperah.com) and equivalent mechanisms (SDK identifiers, app-stored preferences) in our mobile app. Our business and admin portals use strictly necessary sign-in cookies (session and security cookies only), covered by the “strictly necessary” category below.

This Policy explains:

  • What we use and why
  • What is strictly necessary and what is optional
  • Your choices and how to change them

2. Cookies and trackers

A cookie is a small text file stored by your web browser. We also use equivalent technologies in our mobile app: device identifiers, local app storage, push tokens, and app preferences. Throughout this Policy, “tracker” means any of these.

We use these categories of trackers, and you control the optional ones:

  • Strictly necessary (always on) — needed to keep you signed in, keep the service secure, and remember your cookie choice. These are exempt from consent under the EU ePrivacy rules and their national equivalents.
  • Service integrity (always on) — crash reports and basic performance measurements (such as app-startup and screen-load timings) run for every install so we can find crashes and keep the app working reliably. They are not used for advertising or profiling, and they do not carry your name or email. We process them under our legitimate interest in running a stable service.
  • Functional — preferences like your language and theme are stored on your device so the app can apply the choice you made. They involve no tracking and never leave your device.
  • Analytics (opt-in) — help us understand how the app is used so we can improve it. Our analytics provider is PostHog, hosted in the EU. Analytics events are tied to your account ID — never your name, email, or username — and we do not record your screen or session. Analytics stay off until you opt in via the consent banner, and you can switch them off again at any time; our public website (apperah.com) uses no analytics or advertising trackers at all.
  • Advertising — we do not use advertising or behavioural-targeting trackers. Any change would require an update to this Policy and your renewed opt-in consent.

Optional trackers are off by default and stay off until you enable them.

4. On mobile

In the app we don’t use advertising identifiers. Crash reports and basic performance timings run for every install as service-integrity data (see the category above) — they carry no name or email and are never used for advertising. If you opt in to product analytics, usage events are tied to your account ID (never your name or email); analytics are controlled by the analytics switch and stay off until you consent. We also use a push token to deliver notifications (deleted when you disconnect).

5. Third-party providers

Some features you choose to use — such as signing in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, viewing maps, or syncing a calendar — involve third-party providers that may set their own cookies under their own policies. We don’t control those.

When you leave Apperah. Apperah itself sets no advertising cookies. When you follow a link out of the app — for example to a ticket seller — the destination site may set its own cookies under its own cookie policy and consent controls. For partner (affiliate) links, this can include a cookie that attributes your visit to Apperah so that we can earn a commission on a purchase; it does not change what you pay and involves no sharing of your Apperah account data. Partner links are identified in the app.

6. Your choices

You can change your tracker preferences at any time:

  • Web: our public website (apperah.com) sets no optional trackers at all, so there is no cookie banner or cookie-settings link — there is nothing to manage. Your browser’s own cookie controls always apply.
  • Mobile: the consent banner on first launch, and afterwards Settings > Data & personalization — switch analytics off (or on) at any time; the change takes effect immediately.

Because apperah.com uses no advertising or cross-site tracking, there is nothing to opt out of for ad purposes. If that ever changed, we would honour a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as an opt-out.

Your choices cover the optional categories. Strictly necessary and service-integrity trackers stay on — they are what keeps the app signed-in, secure, and working.

We do not use cookie walls. You can use Apperah whether or not you consent to optional trackers.

If you decline optional trackers, your choice stands — we do not nag you with repeat prompts. We ask again only when a material change to this Policy or to our trackers requires renewed consent. You can revisit your choices at any time in Settings > Data & personalization.

8. Country-specific rules

Some countries have specific cookie rules. Where a country-specific supplement applies to you, it takes precedence over this Policy.

9. Updates

We update this Policy when:

  • We add or change trackers
  • Regulators issue new guidance
  • The law changes

Material updates: advance in-app notice and email. We maintain an archive of past versions.
