Who this is for
Apperah’s core function is making plans — creating an activity, plan, or open invite that other people join. When you create one, you are a host. This policy explains what hosts and attendees are responsible for. It works alongside our Acceptable Use Policy, Community Guidelines, and Open Invite Terms.
Apperah is the platform, not the organiser
Apperah provides the tools to plan and invite. The host runs the event. We do not organise, supervise, vet, or insure plans, and we do not guarantee that an event will take place as described or be attended. Hosts and attendees take part at their own discretion and risk.
If you host
You are responsible for:
- Accurate details — state the what, where, and when clearly, together with anything attendees need to know (cost, age limits, what to bring, accessibility).
- A lawful, safe plan — follow the law and any venue rules, get any permits you need, and respect capacity and safety.
- The people you invite — only invite people appropriately, and be careful what you share publicly. Open invites can reach people you don’t know; see the Open Invite Terms.
- Honouring your plan — if plans change or you cancel, let your attendees know.
Prohibited events
Don’t create, promote, or host plans that involve:
- Illegal activity, or anything that endangers people — especially minors.
- Violence, harassment, hate, or discrimination against any group.
- Sexual solicitation or adult-services events.
- Sale or supply of regulated or dangerous goods (e.g., drugs, weapons), or unlawful supply of alcohol.
- Gambling or money-making schemes, scams, or deceptive “events.”
- Anything else that breaks our Acceptable Use Policy or the law.
If you attend
- RSVP honestly and update it if your plans change.
- Follow the host’s reasonable rules and the venue’s rules, and treat other attendees with respect (Community Guidelines).
- Look after your own safety when meeting people you don’t know well: meet in public where you can, tell a friend where you’re going, and trust your instincts. Apperah is not an emergency service — in an emergency, call your local emergency number. More resources are in our Community Guidelines.
Publishing a public event in the directory
You can also register a public event at a venue so it appears in Apperah’s public events directory for everyone. When you do:
- It goes live after automated checks. Your event is published after our automated content checks — a person does not review it first. You are fully responsible for what you publish.
- It is labelled. Events registered by users carry a “User created” label so others can tell them apart from events confirmed by the venue. If the venue later takes the event over, the label changes.
- Your name is on it. A public event you register shows you as its creator — your name, username, and profile photo — and public event pages can be viewed on the web without an Apperah account.
- Get it right, and have the right. Only publish events that are real, that are genuinely open to the public, and that you have the right to announce. Don’t publish someone else’s event with wrong details, and don’t pose as a venue or organiser you’re not.
- You can remove it. You can delete an event you registered at any time. We can also remove events that are inaccurate, unlawful, or reported (see below), and the venue can claim and correct events at their place.
- The rest of this policy applies — including the prohibited-events list above and our Acceptable Use Policy.
Commercial and paid events
Apperah is for social planning between people. Do not use personal plans to run a business event, charge attendees off-platform, or circumvent our Business Terms of Service. Collecting payment for events through Apperah is not permitted.
Reporting and enforcement
If a plan looks unsafe, deceptive, or against this policy, use Report in the app or email trust@apperah.com. We may remove plans and, for serious or repeated breaches, suspend or terminate accounts (see Terms of Service).
