1. What this covers
Paid promotion on Apperah — featured campaigns, deals and promotional offers, sponsored placement, and announcements. The content licence, warranty, and indemnity in the Business ToS (B6) apply to all promotional content. When in-product billing launches, promotion will be billed via our third-party payment provider (Merchant of Record) — see Business ToS §B8; Apperah does not yet charge businesses through the product.
Community group organisers — ordinary users who run a public community and accept off-platform payment to feature an event or place — are not business users and are governed by the Community Group Organizer Terms, not these terms. The disclosure principle (“paid partnership”) and the regulated-sector rules in §2 and §5 below apply equally to them.
2. Advertising must be labelled (DSA Art. 26)
- Every paid placement is clearly labelled as advertising (“Promoted” / “Sponsored”), on every surface where it appears.
- A promotion leads to the place or event — and the business — being promoted.
- No covert or undisclosed native advertising — this also reflects good marketing practice (markedsføringsloven § 2 and the EU Unfair Commercial Practices rules).
3. Ranking transparency (P2B Art. 5)
The main parameters that determine ranking — and how paid placement relates to organic results — are disclosed. Paid placement is not an organic recommendation and is always labelled.
4. Content standards
- Comparative advertising must meet all the conditions of Directive 2006/114/EC, Art. 4 (objective, verifiable, not misleading, not denigrating, no imitation, no unfair use of a competitor’s trademark).
- No misleading or aggressive practices; price and offer information must be accurate, including reference-price rules for discounts (Omnibus Directive).
- No prohibited or unlawful content — see the Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Regulated sectors (location-aware)
- Alcohol: alcohol-advertising rules vary by market and are strict in some countries (for example Norway, where only neutral venue information may be shown — not promotion of the alcohol itself). We verify compliance and may restrict non-compliant promotions.
- Other regulated sectors (gambling/lotteries, tobacco/vaping, financial services, health/medical claims, age-restricted goods): your promotion must comply with the applicable sector law. You warrant lawfulness, and we may restrict non-compliant promotions.
6. Your warranty and our moderation
- You warrant that each promotion is lawful, accurate, and that you hold all rights to it (the Business ToS B6 warranty and indemnity apply).
- We may reject, remove, or demote a non-compliant promotion. Where we do, we give a statement of reasons and you can use the complaint/appeal path in the Business ToS (B11).
